Leaping through uncertainty

Everyone I meet these days want to know my plan, dream, vision or whatever makes them feel like I have my future all set for success. Almost everything is some kind of transaction, people want to connect with only people who have some sort of value to add to their lives, so they ask about your dreams or what you do just so they know where to place you in their lives. I go to bed most times worried that i’m not doing enough to set myself up for success. I second guess every thought and action and work myself up mentally even for the least activity. My search history on google is all about the top 10 jobs of the future, top 10 skills in demand for a successful career, how to be super productive everyday etc.

I was at a meet up recently where someone mentioned that the top 10 jobs now never existed 10 years ago and a guy in the crowd murmured that those hot jobs today would probably be non-existent in 10 years time. For a moment I stopped to think about the fact that it probably means that i’m putting in so much effort now to learning something that I would have to unlearn in the nearest future. Life can be funny because doing nothing most times is worse than doing anything. If the hot jobs of today will probably go into extinction tomorrow, so what do we do now? For someone like me who needs to always be prepared, the need to plan every second ahead can become self-destructive.

The uncertainties of life can be a b***h sometimes. I have found myself in situations where I planned everything to the very tiny detail and prepared for every possible scenario I could think of, but somehow something out of the plan finds its way into the situation. The truth is, nothing in my life has ever gone exactly the way I want it to, and that pushes me to the edge sometimes.

I have come to realize that uncertainties are part of life, and its better to embrace it than to fight it. You never truly know until you try, even when you try you might have to retry. My point is, the beauty of things can be in the mystery behind it, so instead of trying to create a certain future at all cost you could try taking a leap of faith forward regardless of how life turn out.
